As we ended Genesis 4, two things are highlighted, the genealogy of Cain (Gen. 4:17-24) and the birth of his brother, Seth (Gen. 4:25-26). We can see those descendants of Cain were motivated by selfishness. As chapter 4 closes, Seth and his son “began to call upon the name of the Lord”. As we transition to Genesis 5, the descendants of Seth are listed, down to Noah. Amongst his descendants is Enoch, who walked with God (Gen. 5:21-24), our focus in today’s sermon.
